Until We Meet Again

"Until We Meet Again"- This has been Susan's words to so many that have talked to her in recent days. She still remains comfortable and pain free. Sleeping with short periods of awake time for the family while visiting at the hospital. Here is a story that happened today. Our girls have been able to get their ears pierced at the age of thirteen. That has been the Vetsch standard. Until today. Mary (12), Laura (10) and Kayla (8) were surprised tonight by given the chance to get their ears pierced as a special blessing from Susan. They were excited and totally surprised. We all met at the local mall store that does this. All of us. Yes we were able to get Susan away from the hospital for about 40 minutes to share in the suprise. I included some pictures. We got Susan back right away and back to sleep for the night. She really had a nice time tonight. Our children also made a video tribute to Susan today with the help of Aaron Anstett. We showed that tonight for her. Thanks to all that continue to embrace us and have given to us (Roger and Lisa, a special thanks to you!) Good night.
Outside the store after getting the three girls ears pierced.
Another game night on Monday night. Susans parents came in on Sunday. Their names are Jack and Mary Carol, seated next to Susan.

What wonderful memories you are making! What amazes me in all of this is a legacy for Aunt Susan that will last so, so long. That is not her reward, as hers is waiting in heaven with our Father, but it is our reward that we get to have until we meet our Father. Thank you Aunt Susan!!!

Bless you guys!!

Doug, Susan & family,

It sounds as though you have a wonderful hospital staff that understands what's important to the patients and their families and is flexible enough to allow you to do what you feel you need to. God bless them! I'm so happy Susan is comfortable and her pain has eased. I know we aren't there to physically put our arms around you but please know that our arms are constantly embracing all of you as are our thoughts. I call Leah everyday with a hug over the phone which is also meant for everyone there. Susan, I agree with your philosophy of "until we meet again". I like to say "I'll see you later". God bless!!!

With hugs, prayers and lots of love,

Lisa

Katie's eyes got so big and then she got sort of white when she realized that Kayla had gotten her ears pierced. This is her soul mate after all and no pre-clearance---hahahaha. Sounds like alot of fun and very Susan to suprise them. What precious times together--all of you. We are rejoicing and grieving with you as we pray for you moment by moment!
Love overflowing
